Job Description:
POSITION SUMMARYBeginning in Spring 2025, CityParks Play is
expanding its partnership with NIKE to launch an initiative across
NYC to empower and engage more teenage girls to play and stay in
sports. The effort will feature new female-led, girls-only sports
programming targeting primarily ages 13-16. The Program Manager,
Girls Sports Initiative will report and work directly with the
Director of Operations to plan, coordinate, and execute these
programs. The Program Manager will also work closely with other
program directors and CPF Marketing to ensure this initiative is
seamlessly integrated into CPF's current citywide sports
programming.COMPENSATION: $55 - $65,000 per
yearRESPONSIBILITIESProgram Development & Coordination:
- Develop, implement, and oversee new sports programs and
activities tailored for girls ages 13-16 of all skill levels.
- Work with CPF and Nike teams to ensure that programs are
designed to enhance physical, mental, and emotional well-being,
with a focus on building self-confidence and leadership skills in
girls.Outreach & Recruitment:
- Work with CPF's marketing team to ensure that marketing
materials are appropriate for the target audience and meet the
needs of the program.
- Design and execute strategies to increase participation in
girls' sports programs, particularly among underserved and
underrepresented communities.
- Build and maintain relationships with local schools, parents,
and other community-based organizations to promote opportunities
for girls to engage in sports.
- Lead communications with external strategic partners with the
goal of increasing participation amongst targeted
demographics.
- Conduct onsite/neighborhood outreach to identify stakeholders
interested in participating/supporting CPF sports programs.
- Facilitate new sources for female coach recruitment (i.e.,
attending college campus hiring events, industry-specific job
fairs, networking with program alumni, etc.).Monitoring &
Evaluation:
- Track and report on program performance, including
participation rates, feedback from participants, and overall
impact.
- Use data to continuously improve the programs and initiatives,
ensuring they meet the needs and interests of teenage
girls.QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of experience in youth sports programming, youth
development, or event coordination, preferably with a focus on
girls' sports or youth empowerment.
- Proven ability to work with diverse populations, including
girls from various backgrounds.
- Experience in outreach, recruitment, or marketing youth sports
events or large-scale community programs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability
to engage a variety of stakeholders including participants,
parents, coaches, and community leaders.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the
ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Knowledge of sports programs, coaching methods, and best
practices for youth development preferred.
- Ability to create and maintain positive, inclusive, and
supportive environments for all participants.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and
weekends, to accommodate program schedules and events.
- Background as a coach or athlete preferred.
- Ability to travel throughout five boroughs of NYC (at times by
car/or CPF-provided official vehicle).ABOUT CITY PARKS FOUNDATIONAt
