You'll collaborate across orgs to inform, inspire, and engage Etsy's globally distributed team - crafting communications across a variety of channels and mediums. We pride ourselves on taking a human approach, with clear, concise, compelling communications that align with our company's mission.As part of the global Communications & Community team, you'll play a key role in deepening employee understanding of our strategic objectives, and ensuring employees feel that their work is aligned to these efforts. You'll also inspire employees by helping them feel more deeply connected to our mission and to our seller community.This is a full-time position reporting to the Senior Manager, Internal Communications. In addition to salary, you will also be eligible for an equity package, an annual performance bonus, and our competitive benefits that support you and your family as part of your total rewards package at Etsy.This role requires your presence in Etsy's Brooklyn Office once or twice per week depending on your proximity to the office. • Manage a wide range of projects and key communications initiatives that engage a global, company-wide audience, both live and async.
• Partner with Product, Engineering and Marketing teams to develop communications that encourage employees to celebrate and take pride in new launches, programs, milestones, and more - and inspire them to act as our brand advocates in the world.
• Partner with our Community team to strengthen the connection Etsy employees feel with our seller community.
• Own the curation, editing, and distribution of our weekly, company-wide newsletter, This Weeksy.
• Partner with company leaders to elevate the impact of their communications to both org and all-company audiences.
• Support the planning and execution of company-wide meetings, including our all-company Y'all Hands sessions.
• Help manage the permissions and strategy of company communications channels, including email listservs, Slack channels, and more.
• Develop, review, edit and approve company-wide communications, including emails, Slack messages, presentations, audio, video, and more.
• Support the management of our communications calendar and cadence, working with teams to pace out their communications and events to improve uptake and engagement.
• Develop creative ways to measure the effectiveness of and improve our internal communications.
• Regularly share knowledge with internal comms counterparts at our subsidiary companies.

  • Have at least 3-5 years of professional experience in roles with a heavy focus on internal communications, corporate communications and/or branding.
  • Be passionate about finding new and innovative ways to effectively communicate with large, globally distributed and diverse groups of people.
  • Have strong organizational skills and be adept at balancing multiple complex projects simultaneously and independently.
  • Be an excellent writer, tailoring your style and tone based on the sender, message, medium, and audience.
  • Have strong presentation-building skills, ideally using Google Slides. You're able to take draft presentation slides from unclear and busy to a clear, concise, more digestible final product.
  • Possess outstanding judgment with the ability to represent our team with a wide variety of internal partners, including senior leaders, as well as the ability to exercise discretion when dealing with sensitive information.
  • Be fastidious about details and skilled at proofreading. People come to you for a final review before sending out an important email.
  • Have some experience with event production, video editing, and/or graphic design.
  • Be a self-starter and willing to pitch in wherever needed to achieve the team's goals.
  • Build positive relationships with a diverse group of partner teams.
