Job Description:

The Berks Career and Technology Center is seeking a full-time long-term substitute Instructor for our Horticulture program at the East Campus in Oley, PA. This position is available immediately and will run through on or around June 4, 2025.

Qualifications: High school diploma required. Recent, full-time, wage-earning experience in the horticulture field beyond the training period. A valid PDE certificate in Agriculture (1200) or Career and Technical/Instructional (2600) in the Occupational Competency Area of Horticulture/Floriculture (2012) is a plus but not required.

Skills & Competencies: Strong hands-on instructional skills and the ability to integrate industry-relevant horticulture and floriculture techniques. Knowledge of plant production, processing, and care, including shrubs, flowers, foliage, trees, and groundcovers. Familiarity with managing horticulture services and applying basic scientific principles to plant care.

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:30 AM to 3:15 PM (7 - hours/day, including a 30-minute duty-free lunch).
