- 7 Paid HolidaysJob purpose The Contract IT Support Specialist
will provide support for end-user computing and office software and
hardware. This will include laptops, desktops, network hardware
(routers, switches, etc.), printers, copiers, VOIP and cellular
phones, and conference room A/V equipment. This is a 6-month
contract position. Duties and Responsibilities
- Provision laptops, desktops, and tablets with Microsoft and
Apple operating systems.
- Install of and user administration for common workplace
applications such Microsoft 365, Adobe, NetSuite, Salesforce,
etc.
- Ensure new employees have everything they need from IT for a
successful first day, including all computing equipment &
accessories, phone(s), accounts, correct user & group permissions,
assisting with initial passwords, MFA setup, and providing
white-glove service to create a positive first impression of the
company
- Administer user accounts, licensing, and email in Microsoft 365
and Entra ID.
- Troubleshoot hardware problems and coordinating with vendors
for warranty repairs as needed.
- Printer and copier troubleshooting and management
- Provision and troubleshoot VOIP and cellular phones (both iOS
and Android) for users, interfacing with vendors as needed
- Answer emails, phone calls and instant messages for support
requests.
- Assist with basic network and connectivity
troubleshooting.
- Assist end users with routine service requests such as file
sharing, password resets and configuration changes, coordinating
ticket resolution with outsourced NOC as needed.
- Support conference room equipment, including TVs,
speakerphones, and specialized videoconference equipment for MS
Teams and Zoom-based meetings.
- Provide VIP support for onsite executive team, which may
include special requests, setup of non-standard tools, or
specialized hardware & personal devices upon request
- Follow documented procedures for equipment provisioning and
system administration, with willingness and ability to create new
written and video-based documentation as needed.
- Manage onsite physical inventory of computer equipment and
accessories, including laptops, monitors, keyboards, mice,
headsets, etc.
- Serve as the onsite champion for good cybersecurity practices,
leading by example, answering questions, troubleshooting security
events, and collaborate with additional IT security staff and
partners as needed. *Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology
or Management Information Systems.
- Experience administering Windows and Mac computers in a
corporate setting.
- Must have prior experience working with Microsoft 365 and
Azure
- Experience working in a corporate helpdesk, NOC, or MSP is a
plus.
- Proficiency managing networked printers & copiers - ability to
troubleshoot and resolve issues independently, and to interface
with vendor support as needed.
- Basic understanding of network connectivity such as TCP/IP,
switches, routers, internet connections, DHCP, and wireless access
points. Experience installing low-voltage cabling is a plus.
- Experience building automations using scripting, low/no-code
tools, or AI-based platforms is a plus.
- Ability to multitask, willingness to be accountable and follow
projects and assignments through to completion.
- Must have a strong work ethic, organizational skills, attention
to detail and a desire to learn.
- Must be able to lift and move computer equipment and
accessories up to 50lbs
