Position Title: Supervised Visitation Specialist Location: Parent Child Programs - Scranton, Pennsylvania Department: Parent Child Programs Employment Type: Full-Time Minimum Experience: Entry-level Compensation Rate: $19.00 Hourly Description: Job Title: Supervised Visitation SpecialistReports To: SV Team LeadHours: FT - evenings and weekends are requiredFLSA Status: Non-exempt, hourly Summary:Supervises and coordinates visitation of custodial and non-custodial parents/caregivers and their children by performing the following duties. Duties: --- Schedules and supervises visits between non-custodial parents/caregivers and children. --- Conducts thorough intake evaluations.--- Assesses physical and emotional parenting skills/knowledge, boundary setting and overall parent-child interaction.--- Performs comprehensive note taking using DAP format.--- Regularly writes and submits reports to the court, which may include testifying in court.--- Acts as a liaison and family intermediary between custodial and noncustodial caregivers, the court system and other service providers.--- Regular data entry (Excel and agency database) and file maintenance.--- Represents agency in community or in interagency activities.--- Attends professional development opportunities when available.--- Performs other duties as assigned. Experience working with people from diverse social, economic and cultural backgrounds is preferred. Education/Experience:Master's or Bachelor's degree; and 3 to 5 years related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Background in the counseling/mental health field preferred. Computer Skills: Microsoft Office skills and accurate typing/data entry skills required. Certificates and Licenses: No certifications or licenses needed Supervisory Responsibilities: NoneWork Environment:This position requires regular evening hours and the ability to work a flexible schedule. The Supervised Visitation Specialist may occasionally encounter an angry or threatening client who is under the influence of alcohol/drugs and/or be exposed to potential hostile domestic relations, as cases can include protection from abuse orders (PFA's). There are occasional cases where allegations of abuse/sexual abuse have been made. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Physical Demands:While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to sit. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 20-25 pounds.
