We need your talent, motivation, and vision as a Principal Software Engineer to join our Long Island team.We are actively seeking experienced Software Engineers with a minimum of 4 years of experience and a range of skills to develop high-quality, real-time embedded software for fielded electronics platforms. This means work will be conducted on location at a BAE Systems facility > 50% of the time.Required Education, Experience, & Skills

• Must be a US Citizen and be able to obtain a Secret clearance.
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or other scientific degree with strong software content.
• 4+ years of experience in software development.
• Ability to design, develop, and implement software solutions to meet project requirements, including coding, testing, debugging, and documentation.
• Understanding of software engineering principles, design patterns, and best practices, with the ability to design and develop scalable and maintainable software solutions.
• Familiarity with the full software development lifecycle, from requirements analysis and design to implementation, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
• Comfortable supporting and maintaining existing software, troubleshoot technical issues, and implement bug fixes and enhancements as needed.
• Strong problem-solving skills that translate to working, maintainable software.
• Willingness to learn and develop new skills as needed.Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Experience in embedded software development.
  • Working knowledge of software tools such as Jira, BitBucket, debuggers, etc
  • Experience with DO-178 or other defined software process
  • Experience with Agile Development and DevSecOps

However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
