need for consistent, in-person collaboration and/or the requirement
to perform all work onsite due to the nature of this particular
role, it will be performed full-time on site. This means work will
be conducted on location at a BAE Systems facility 100% of the
time.In this Sr Network Administrator position you will make
impacts in the following ways;
- Monitor, Configure & Troubleshoot Switches, Firewalls, VPN
appliances
- Use network diagnostic tools as per product requirements
- Ensure the reliability, availability and performance of network
infrastructure & network-related application
- Actively participate in incident response and root-cause
analysis, support a blameless post-mortems culture
- Involved with installation, maintenance, advanced trouble
shooting and administration of existing network systems. Trains
end-users and responds to user inquires.
- Set up network security standards and participate in major
network installations and upgrades.
- Trouble shoot complex network problems. Interfaces with vendors
to ensure appropriate resolution during network outages or periods
of reduced performance.
- Present recommendations on network interfaces and
configurations.
- Document root-cause analysis and offer solutions to prevent
future client network outages
- Commission and decommission infrastructure
- Identify and suggest network designs that will enable
consistent client network workflow
- Maintain current customer network documentation that documents
outages, changes, and best practices
- Automate repetitive tasks to eliminate toil and drive
consistency + repeatability
- Develop tools and services to automate the mitigation and
remediation of network-specific events
- Participate in creating customized network management tools to
evaluate, monitor and report network statistics
- Design, write and deliver Infrastructure as Code software to
improve the availability, scalability, latency, and efficiency of
networkRequired Education, Experience, & Skills
- Active Secret Clearance is required
- Must be able to obtain CompTIA S+ Certification within 2 months
of hire
- Good understanding of TCP/IP model, Open Networking standards,
Jun OS, Cisco IOS
- Significant experience with network diagnostic tools such as
tcpdump, wireshark
- Experience with Cisco and Juniper OS for switches, firewalls,
routers
- Understanding of network security (firewalls and IDS) design
and implementation
- Understanding of complex networking models utilizing a variety
of L2 & L3 protocols
- Knowledge of spanning tree protocol, BGP, LACP, VLAN,
MC-LAG
- Basic understanding of scripting & software development
packages for development of Infrastructure as Code
- Working knowledge of one or more of the following languages:
Ansible, Python,
- Understanding of diagram drawing tools such as Visio, Lucid
Charts, Gliffy
- Able to document cause analysis and offer solutions to prevent
future client network outages
- Excellent oral and written communication skills Preferred
Education, Experience, & Skills
- Bachelor's Degree and 4+ years' work experience or equivalent
work experience.
- Ability to obtain Top Secret Clearance
- Active CompTIA S+ CertificationPay InformationFull-Time Salary
Range: $100680 - $171120Please note: This range is based on our
market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined
by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business
considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as
well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and
