Job Description:Role Summary/Purpose:The Assistant Vice
President, Principal Software Engineer craves working in a hands-on
system design and architecture environment and leads by example to
make sure time sensitive projects get done on time and to
specifications. To be successful in this role, deep expertise in
solution and event-driven architecture, microservice architecture,
cloud technologies and the ability to influence and lead a team are
musts.----This AVP will lead the development and the life cycle
management of fraud services platform by creating and developing
thoughtful solutions to anticipate bugs and maintain operational
excellence.-- In short, you would be one of our technical experts
and team leaders.--This position is remote, where you have the
option to work from home. On occasion we may request for you to
commute to our nearest office for in person engagement activities
such as team meetings, training, and culture events. To ensure the

events.Essential Responsibilities:
- Influence many agile development teams through all phases of
the Agile development life cycle through SAFe--
- Implement new technologies and assist developers as they
migrate to new technologies--
- Architect applications across the full stack, experience in
PCF, Cloud Native Application Architecture, Microservices
ecosystem, Spring Java, and RESTful API's are a must.--
- Design data models to support complex business processes
- Drive a CI/CD strategy using our Jenkins, Cloudbees, Bitbucket,
and uDeploy stack.--
- Create detailed technical documentation
- Influence and collaborate with software developers, UX
designers, product managers, application architects, and customer
application experts to create amazing apps.--
- Mentor and influence all levels of the team: in this role, you
will have the opportunity to influence up and down the chain of
command
- Ensure compliance with architecture, security and technology
standards set by Synchrony--
- Assist in crafting and maintaining the future state technology
architectural strategy, along with our application modernization
and migration roadmap.--
- Participate in Agile scrums consisting of cross-functional
teams--
- Lead Agile sprints as the technical expert, including sprint
planning, daily standups, backlog grooming sessions, and sprint
reviews--
- Ensure application code quality through development, test, and
QA--
- Participate in addressing root cause analyses, incident reports
and provide direction in problem resolution--
- Ability to analyze production defects, troubleshoot systems,
identify root cause, and implement fixes--
- Passionate about the latest technologies, open-source projects
and languages--
- Provide 24x7 on-call support periodically throughout the
year--
- Identify ways to increase efficiency and improve system
performance--
- Work with third party vendors to develop software and/or
integrate their software into the company's products--
- Perform other duties and/or special projects as
assignedQualifications/Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree and a minimum 5 years of experience with
software engineering OR, in lieu of degree, High School Diploma/GED
7 years of experience with software engineering.--
- Minimum 5 years of application development experience.--
- Spring Boot and Spring Cloud development background.
- Critical Thinking, creativity and problem-solving skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellence in technical communication with technical and
non-technical peers.
- 5+ years of applied Java experienceDesired Characteristics:
- Experience building and consuming web services via REST and
other modern APIs
- Expertise with continuous integration environments--
- Experience with writing unit, integration, and UI test
cases
- Strong experience with Pivotal Cloud Foundry--
- Knowledge in--using Splunk for production support.
- Experience with Database Architecture, Modeling, and
familiarity with MySQL & SQL--
- Familiarity with JSON, REST and GraphQL based web
services--
- Strong cross-functional team player with the ability to work
seamlessly across a matrix organization and partner with global
development companies--
- Desire to work in a dynamic, fast paced environment--
- Experience developing and supporting financial/banking
applications--
- Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to influence
clients, team members, management, and external groups.--
- Excellent--attention to detail in a team environment--
- Ability to analyze, use structured problem solving and
available tools to troubleshoot systems, identify root cause,
action plans, impact, and resolution options.--Grade/Level: 11The
salary range for this position is 110,000.00 - 185,000.00 USD
Annual and is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and
company performance.Actual compensation offered within the posted
salary range will be based upon work experience, skill level or
knowledge.Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA, NY Metro
and Seattle.Eligibility Requirements:
- You must be 18 years or older
- You must have a high school diploma or equivalent
- You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background
investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding
process
- You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of
the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.
- New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service
with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles.--
Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the
associate will have a minimum 6 months' time in position before
they can post for future non-exempt roles.-- Employees, level 8 or
greater, must have at least 18 months' time in position before they
can post.-- All internal employees must consistently meet
performance expectations and have approval from your manager to
post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don't meet the
time in position or performance expectations).Legal authorization
