Senior Software Engineer, DevOps (Enterprise Platforms Technology)
Do you love building and pioneering in the technology space? Do you enjoy solving complex business problems in a fast-paced, collaborative, inclusive, and iterative delivery environment? We are seeking a DevOps Software Engineer to support our OneKube team!
The OneKube teams are endeavoring to provide a self-service Kubernetes provisioning platform for the enterprise, utilizing cutting-edge cloud tooling such as Kubernetes, Cluster API, and AWS EKS + Fargate. You'll be developing Kubernetes operators and other tooling to enable our small engineering team to manage fleets of Kubernetes clusters for engineering teams across Capital One. You will also collaborate with experts in Kubernetes and container management to design and engineer solutions, troubleshoot Kubernetes clusters and AWS infrastructure, and assist in ensuring our platform is secure and operating efficiently. Very few organizations in the world are working in this Kubernetes fleet management space, so this is an opportunity to truly innovate and venture into new territory with emerging technologies.
Enterprise Platforms Technology (EPTech) comprises many of Capital One's most important enterprise platforms. We play an essential role in establishing practices for building technology solutions across the company, while also delivering capabilities that exemplify those practices.
What You'll Do:

• 
  
• Assist in building out the management API layer for the platform.
  
• Collaborate with external teams to define requirements and plan work.
  
• Ensure vulnerabilities are well managed through process, tooling, and automation improvements.
  
• Contribute to and improve our existing Kubernetes operators.
  
• Design and implement new automation pipelines and processes.
  
  Basic Qualifications:
  
  • 
    
  • Bachelor's degree.
    
  • At least 3 years of experience in DevOps Engineering (Internship experience does not apply).
    
  • At least 2 years of experience with Cloud Native technologies (Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform).
    
  • At least 2 years of Unix or Linux system administration experience.
    
    Preferred Qualifications:
    
    • 
      
    • 2+ years of experience with Terraform or Ansible.
      
    • 2+ years of experience with container orchestration services including Docker or Kubernetes.
      
    • 2+ years of experience with coding and scripting, preferably Go or Java.
      
    • 2+ years of experience working with Agile Development Practice.

      The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
      New York City (Hybrid On-Site): $165,100 - $188,500 for Senior Software Engineer.
