Position Summary:
The Technical Coordinator MT/MLS (ASCP) - Microbiology position is
responsible for all technical departmental duties, supporting
training and continuing education, competency assessment, providing
leadership guidance for laboratory staff and partnering with
hospital clinical staff in problem resolution.
This position requires microbiology bench duties in addition to
supportive administrative responsibilities such as: review of
quality control and maintenance, regulatory agency compliance
preparation, inspection team participation, policy review,
applicable hospital committee participation, instrument validation
and proficiency testing monitoring.
The role serves as a remote resource for offsite system
laboratories.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree with MT (ASCP) or MLS (ASCP) or M(ASCP)
certification
Preferred Qualifications:
ASCP specialist certification in Microbiology
Experience with MALDI implementation and validation
Previous laboratory leadership experience
