We are looking for a motivated and customer-focused Sales Assistant to join our team. As a Sales Assistant, you will create an exceptional experience for our customers by sharing knowledge about our high-quality meats and ensuring smooth retail operations. Your passion for local food, butchery, and farm-to-table practices will enhance the customer journey and support our mission to connect consumers with ethically sourced, sustainable products.

Key responsibilities include:

• --- Customer Service: Greet customers, assist with product selection, and answer questions about our meat offerings, sourcing practices, and cuts.
  
• --- Sales Support: Process transactions using the point-of-sale system, handle cash and card payments, and manage customer orders.
  
• --- Product Knowledge: Stay informed about our product range, including meats, specialty items, and local farm partnerships, to educate and upsell to customers.
  
• --- Inventory Management: Assist in stock replenishment, ensure products are properly displayed and labeled, and monitor inventory levels.
  
• --- Cleanliness and Organization: Maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of the sales floor, workstations, and displays in accordance with food safety regulations.
  
• --- Collaboration: Work closely with the butchery team to ensure seamless communication between front-of-house and back-of-house operations.
  
• --- Customer Orders: Take special orders, coordinate pickup or delivery schedules, and ensure accuracy of order fulfillment.
  
• --- Support Marketing Efforts: Assist with in-store promotions, customer loyalty programs, and contribute to the overall shopping experience.
  
  
  Qualifications include:
  
  • 
    
  • --- Prior experience in retail or customer service, preferably in a food-related environment.
    
  • --- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    
  • --- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
    
  • --- Knowledge of or interest in butchery, local farms, and sustainable meat practices is a plus.
    
  • --- Comfortable with point-of-sale systems and basic cash handling.
    
  • --- Team player with a positive attitude and commitment to excellent customer service.
    
    
    Physical requirements include:

    • --- Able to lift up to 60 pounds while walking up and down stairs.
      
    • --- Comfortable working in a refrigerated environment when necessary.
