Description
The selected candidates will be responsible for serving as an
attending physician providing clinical coverage at Stony Brook
Medicine's Advanced Immediate Care facility in Commack.
Additionally, as we are transforming Emergency Medicine into a
Systems-Based Department, the physician will also have the
opportunity to work at our other Emergency Medicine locations in
Stony Brook and other eastern areas of Long Island.
Stony Brook Medicine is seeking two board-certified/board-eligible
Attending Physicians to join our team at the new Stony Brook
Advanced Immediate Care location. This position offers an exciting
opportunity to provide high-quality, patient-centered care in a
fast-paced urgent care setting, treating a wide range of
non-life-threatening conditions for patients of all ages.
Responsibilities include clinical evaluation, diagnosis, treatment,
and coordination of care, while working collaboratively with an
interdisciplinary team of advanced practice providers, nurses, and
support staff. Ideal candidates will have excellent communication
skills, a strong commitment to patient safety and satisfaction, and
the ability to work efficiently in a dynamic environment. This role

to care within the community. In addition, the incumbent may also
work at one of our future acute urgent care centers in Lake Grove,
as well as occasional shifts at Eastern Long Island Hospital based
on operational needs.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
MD/DO Degree (or foreign equivalent). Completion of Emergency
Medicine Residency. Board Certification/Eligibility in Emergency
Medicine. Eligible for New York State License.
Preferred Qualifications:
Graduate teaching, research and administrative/committee
experience. Completion of post residency fellowships.
