Position Summary: Penske Transportation Solutions is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager with a passion for business operations and management to join our team in Reading, PA. This leader will be responsible for monthly accounting activities such as reviewing journal entries, month end review analytics, and account reconciliations. The Accounting Manager is a result driven person who aims to collaborate with key business partners, while leading a team in a fast-paced environment. This leader will oversee a team that collaborates on accounting related matters to achieve organizational objectives. The work schedule is hybrid with 2 days remote and 3 days onsite. Major Responsibilities: Leads, mentors, and ensures engagement of direct reports and their respective teams while working to establish short-and long-term goals and objectives. Assists in the design and implementation of process improvements, including standardization, enhancements, and potential automation of existing processes. Ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies, procedures, and controls. Review Balance Sheet reconciliations. Collaborate with process owners and other stakeholders throughout Finance to evaluate business requirements, analyze transactions, and propose accounting treatment based on customer contracts. Present recommendations to stakeholder, including senior leadership. Oversee and manage the monthly accounting close including journal entry review and analytical review of the Income Statement. Qualifications: 5+ years of accounting experience required 5+ years of management experience required Bachelor's or master's degree in accounting required CPA, a plus Excellent verbal and written communication with the ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders including senior leadership Strong problem solving, judgment, and organizational skills. Ability to multitask and self-prioritize work. Has advanced and deep knowledge of financial and accounting systems Requirements include willingness to travel as necessary, work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening Effectively lead and manage an accounting team with a proven ability to meet department goals and implement change Requirements: -The physical and mental demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
