Job Description:
FlexStaff is seeking a Sales Tax Accountant for our client. This is
a temporary role (ending February 28, 2025) responsible for
ensuring compliance obligations are efficient, on time, and
accurate, while minimizing the company's sales tax liabilities.
Location: HYBRID, Melville, NY
The schedule for this role is in the office for one week once a
month on the second/third week of the month, preferably before the
20th of each month. This role will require you to be in the office
for 5 days.
35 hrs week
$47.80/hour
Responsibilities
* Prepare, review and file sales and use tax returns from Vertex
for multiple states, to comply with state and local
regulations.
Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree required (Accounting preferred), CPA
helpful
* 3-5 years of multi-state sales tax accounting experience
* Experience researching tax rules and regulations for products and
services.
* Proficiency with Vertex Returns, or similar tax management
systems required.
* Oracle and Tableau experience a plus
* Strong Excel skills are required
* Ability to work independently and interact well with others
